SHOULD WE APPROVE ‘LOST ART x BOBU: SPILL THE BEANZ’? (COMMUNITY PROPOSAL BY @oitoo @londnr)

Bobu loves to tell tall stories, so why don’t we give him a bigger platform to do so?

Titled Spill the Beanz, this collab between Bobu x LOST ART media (formerly

LONDNR Magazine) will hard launch Bobu for web2 audiences, allowing him a

physical space to showcase his numerous talents.

LOST ART is a media organisation based in the UK that covers art, thought, and mischief. As part of our mission for 2025 we’ll be adding a vertical focused on digital cultures.

This is a great opportunity to team up with Bobu and bring digital art to a broader, culturally

curious audience, while creating new limited-edition products for token holders and a

chance for community artists to get exposure.

This project aims to:

  • Create 2 special editions of a LOST ART “mangazine” titled Spill the Beanz. The content of these collectable issues will be a mix of stories from the Anime and web3 worlds, interviews with thought leaders, and artworks from community artists. Fusing the magazine and comic book formats into one glorious crossover, Bobu will take his place as the ‘narrator’ in the mags, allowing us to spend more time with him.
  • Host a high impact launch party in a central London location, with an opening talk and an auction of the original artworks created for the publications.
  • Generate a buzz around Bobu by publishing selected stories online, producing viral

teasers and harnessing the combined power of LOST ART and Bobu to drive other press coverage.

LOST ART is a new media organisation covering art, thought and mischief (est. 2015), based in the UK capital.

LOST ART has been making magazines since 2018, which means our print production runs like a well-oiled machine (paper selection, print schedule, distribution channels, stock taking etc. is locked down). Our current circulation is 10,000 per issue, 5 issues per annum.

We frequently work with partners on exclusive issues and joint events. E.g. Last October we teamed up with the BFI (UK’s leading body for cinema) for London Film Festival (a global film festival that stands alongside Cannes, Venice, Sundance etc.).

We hosted a Festival opening party attended by award-winners and opinion leaders, where we launched a special edition titled ‘Women in Film’, to celebrate female contribution to the screen.

This proposal would include:

  • Produce 2 limited editions of LOST ART magazine: 1 large-format expanded ‘mangazine’ + 1 standard format LOST ART in A5. Both copies will be available for free (minus shipping) on a first come first served to token holders.
  • A percentage of magazines will be available for sale to the public and LOST ART readers. Profits will go to Bobu’s Treasury.
  • Any sponsorship or ads sales will revert to Bobu’s treasury.
  • Include detachable limited edition artworks within the collectible ‘mangazines’ for token holders to remove and frame.
  • Engage community writers and artists by running a competition to submit an article or artwork of Bobu for print in the ‘mangazines’ (selected writers/artists will be remunerated).
  • Drive press coverage of Bobu and this partnership, in LOST ART and other publications, via our media network.
  • Drive awareness and familiarity with Bobu IP among web2 individuals.
  • Encourage digital art and anime lovers to join the Azuki community and engage with the Bobu IP.
  • Expand the IP of Bobu for both web2 and web3 audiences via our combination of physical and digital content.
  • Create ‘viral moments’ through teasers and reveals that generate engagement on socials.
  • Bring together token holders and a broader cultural audience at a launch event, where they can mingle, meet, and spread the love of Bobu.
  • Free entry for token holders to our launch event, where they’ll have the chance to bid on the original artworks included in the ‘mangazines’ at our Spill the Beanz auction.
  • Entry to the event for the public will be ticketed. Profits from tickets and auctions go to Bobu’s Treasury.

The proposal team is asking for approval to use USD 51.2K from the treasury. The funding will be used to: create and distribute the “mangazine”, create a high impact event, reach strategic partners for IP expansion and for community artists and writers commissions.

By voting yes for this proposal, the community will be showing their support not only for the creation of a collectable Bobu magazine and sub consequence IP expansion but also to support the talented community artists and authors.
